SMILEY'S FLIGHT CLUB
What is Smiley's Flight Club?
Flight club was founded and is run by Martin 'Smiley' Brown. Smiley is a Level 2 British Cycling coach with a specialism in BMX. He's been racing for 12 years, reaching top 10 Nationally every year. He's currently ranked British NUMBER 2 and NUMBER 3 in the BMX National Series and has previously attended 2 world championships. His wheels very much spend more time off the floor than on it which is where flight club came from.
Flight Club sessions;
miniFlight Club - this is a great progression on from our kids Bike Club sessions. Children will learn how to ride on small BMX/pump tracks with good riding technique. They will learn about pumping, cornering, riding position, building speed and balance. Smiley will be able to advise when children are ready to progress to miniFlight Club from Bike Club.
Flight Club - in these sessions riders will start to learn more riding and racing techniques and bike skills such as bunny hops, manualling, jumping, and sprinting as well as perfecting the basics. These sessions are suitable for riders racing at both Regional and National level (although this is not a requirement!) and is also suitable for riders ready to progress on from miniFlight Club.
advancedFlight Club - these sessions are usually ran at a National Standard BMX track or Bike Park and are only suitable for advanced riders racing regularly at Regional and National level.
